About NexGen Hack
NexGen Hack is a national-level, 36-hour hackathon hosted by Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology, Ghaziabad. Inspired by National Initiatives such as Digital India, National Health Mission, Cyber Surakshit Bharat and Make in India, this event empowers students (16–25 years old) to solve real-world problems in four key domains.
Various participants from across India will collaborate in interdisciplinary teams to brainstorm, build and demo working prototypes. Our mission is to bridge the gap between academia and industry by identifying cutting-edge solutions and offering incubation opportunities to top teams.
This initiative promotes creative thinking and problem-solving among students and faculty. It aims to nurture innovative tech solutions for global challenges by fostering collaboration between academia and industry. The focus is on emerging technologies like AI, IoT, Robotics and Cybersecurity. It also offers incubation support for real-world implementation and encourages learning, teamwork and networking.

Eligibility & Timeline
Who Can Participate?
- The competition is exclusively open to Indian nationals who are full-time college students aged between 16 and 25 years as of August 30, 2025.
- Eligibility requires active enrollment in a recognized college or university in India. College ID card is mandatory for all the participants.
- The competition is structured as a team-based event, requiring each team to comprise maximum four members.
- Team size: 2–4 members with minimum one female member (interdisciplinary teams encouraged).
- Individual entries not allowed.
- Must register with a unique team name & submit an abstract (≤300 words).
- Each team is required to select and participate in only one of the four available themes for the competition.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can participate in the hackathon?
Students from any recognized college or university in India age between 16-25 year pursuing UG/PG programs in engineering, technology, or related fields are eligible to participate.
Is there a registration fee?
No, participation in the NexGen Hackathon is completely free.
How many members can be in a team?
Each team can have 2 to 4 members. Individuals are not allowed.
Can team members be from different colleges?
Yes, cross-college teams are allowed, provided all members meet the eligibility criteria but college id is mandatory for all members of a team.
What are the themes of the hackathon?
The hackathon will focus on four innovation themes.
Can we use pre-existing code or projects?
All work should be developed during the hackathon.
What do we need to submit in the registration round?
Teams need to submit an Abstract(≤ 300 words) alongwith PowerPoint presentation explaining their idea, problem statement, and a basic solution roadmap.
What is the online pitch round?
In this round, selected teams will present a live pitch (2 + 2 min Q&A) of their idea or prototype via Google Meet to the panel.
What resources are provided during the offline hackathon?
During the 36-hour Grand Finale:

Accommodation will be provided for outstation teams during the offline round.

Exciting cash prizes and certificates for all participants. An Internship is offered to the winning team by Industry partners.

Yes, but all third-party APIs and datasets must be clearly cited and legally compliant with licenses.
